As oral appliance therapy for sleep disordered breathing has become a medically accepted treatment modality in appropriate cases, more dentists are "testing the waters" to see if this is something that can be incorporated into their practices. While often the results of treatment are very gratifying, other cases are more disappointing leading to frustration for all members of the sleep team, dissatisfied patients and possible legal implications, as well the entire profession's reputation in the sleep community is tainted. This presentation is for dentists who wish to continue their journey in dental sleep medicine as well as for those who only want to advise their patients on how to get appropriate care for their sleep disordered breathing.

Having treated his first "snoring case" in 1994, Dr. Les Priemer is truly one of the pioneers in Ontario Dental Sleep Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and a diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. As well he is an Emeritus Member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. He has given numerous presentations to dentists, sleep technicians, and members of the sleep medicine community in Canada, the United States and Bermuda.
